PILGRIMAGE TO THE MARIAN SHRINES

ITINERARY

Day 1 

Flight to Mexico. Arrival in Mexico City. Transfer to Hotel. Dinner and accommodation.  

Day 2 

Breakfast. Visit Mexico City  starting by the colonial side, visiting the majestic Cathedral, Holy Mass, the monumental Presidential Palace and downtown, the Plaza de Armas. Afterwards visit one of the most famous museums in the world: the Museum of History and Anthropology, were we can see objects of pre-hispanic times. Boat ride through the ancient canals of Xochimilco listening to mariachi. Dinner and accommodation. 

Day 3  

After breakfast visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the most important center of peregrinations in America; where the Virgin of Guadalupe is adorated the Queen of America. Holy Mass and free time. Transfer to the famous pyramids of Teotihuacan, visiting the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Moon, and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl. Dinner in the area, and later in the evening return to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 4  

Breakfast. Visit the Polish catholic mission in Tenango del Aire, Holy Mass. Drive along the picturesque road passing near the active Popocatepetl volcano to the most colonial city of Mexico, Puebla. Visiting the Cathedral, the church of St. Dominic, the old town. Supper. Return to Mexico City.

Day 5

Breakfast. Visit to the old capital of the Toltec civilization, the city of Tula with the famous statues of the Atlantas. Transfer to Queretaro: walk around the old town, visit the monastery of St. Cross. Dinner and overnight in San Miguel Allende.

Day 6

Breakfast. A stroll through the picturesque streets of San Miguel Allende, visiting the reserve with numerous species of cactus, among others. Travel to Guanajuato - walk through the colonial streets of this unique city. Visit of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guanajuato, Holy Mass. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Breakfast. Visit the Sanctuary of Christ the King, located in the heart of Mexico, on the hill of Cubilete overlooking the city of Guanajuato. Transfer to Patzcuaro. Walk through the beautiful squares of this charming town. Free time for shopping on numerous bazaars with folk products. Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of healing from Patzcuaro. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Breakfast. In the early morning, go on a horse-riding trip to the flooded by lava village of San Juan, near the volcano Paricutin. Walk through the ruins of the church, where the altar has been miraculously preserved. Return to Patzcuaro. Take a boat ride to the island of Janitzio with a statue of Jose Morelos towering over the lake. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9

Breakfast. Short stop in the colonial Morelia, stroll through the baroque center visiting the cathedral. Transfer to the colonial town of Taxco, famous for its silver jewelry. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10

Breakfast. Stroll to discover the beautiful streets and plazas and visit the baroque jewel, the Church of Santa Prisca and Saint Sebastian, Holy Mass. Free time to explore and shop in the silver workshops. Early afternoon travel to the famous resort  Acapulco on the Pacific coast.  Leisure time on the beach. All-inclusive hotel. 

Day 11

All inclusive. Leisure time on the beach. Optional excursion. 

Day 12

All inclusive. Leisure time on the beach. Optional excursion. 

Day 13

Breakfast. Return to Mexico City. Visit for the last time the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Holy Mass. Transfer to the airport and flight back home.
