SANCTUARIES OF SOUTH AMERICA: BRAZIL, CHILE, ARGENTINA, URUGUAY 

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrival to Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation. 

Day 2

Breakfast. Tour of the city famous for its carnival and the beautiful location. We take the funicular to the top of Corcovado, where the monument of Christ the Redeemer is towering over the city. Great views of the city from here. Transfer to the city center and sightseeing of St. Sebastian, the famous Maracana football stadium and the Sambodrome where the carnival takes place, among others. We take the cable car to the top of the Sugarloaf, to see the city of samba lying between the mountains and the ocean. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 3

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Sao Paulo and travel to the most important religious place in Brazil - the Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida. Time in the Sanctuary. In the evening, return to Sao Paulo. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 4

Breakfast. Early in the morning transfer to the airport and fly over the Iguazu waterfalls. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. After a short break, trip to the Iguazu waterfalls. Admiring this miracle of nature lying on the border of three countries in the middle of the jungle. In the evening, we have a folkloric dinner. Accommodation.

Day 5

Breakfast. Wander along numerous cascades located in the heart of the jungle on the Argentinian side: the Devil's throat, Bosetti, Two Sisters, Saint Martin, Brotherhood, among others. Dinner and accommodation. 

Day 6

Breakfast. Drive through the region where the Jesuits set up their famous missions. Visiting the ruins of one of the Jesuit missions, which was the background of the famous film "Mission". In the evening, dinner and overnight in Posadas.

Day 7

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take a flight to Buenos Aires. After arrival we visit the most important pilgrimage center of Argentina - the city of Lujan with its neo-gothic Basilica, built in honor of the Virgin of Luján, the saint patron of Argentina. Dinner and accommodation in Buenos Aires.  Optional tango show in the evening.

Day 8

Breakfast. Transit through the delta of the Rio de la Plata to Uruguay. Visiting the historical center of the city Colonia (on the UNESCO list). Walk through the picturesque streets of the most beautiful town of Uruguay. In the evening, return to dinner and overnight to Buenos Aires. 

Day 9

Breakfast. Tour of Buenos Aires, visiting Plaza de Mayo - the oldest public square in Buenos Aires, the Cathedral, the pink house with the balcony where Evita Peron spoke, the Congress building, Santa Fe Av., San Telmo where the tango was born, July 9 Avenue - the widest avenue in the world with its famous Obelisco. Transfer to the airport to fly to Mendoza, the capital of the Argentinian wine. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation. 

Day 10

Breakfast. Visit of one of the most beautiful cities of Argentina: the old town, Alameda, Barrio Civico, the General San Martin Park, the Victory Hill, and the amphitheater of Frank Romero Day. In the afternoon, free time for individual exploring. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 11

Breakfast. Drive through the Andes to Chile admiring the Andean mountain landscapes with stops at the Cacheuta, Potrerillos and Uspallata viewing points. Pass through the high-altitude ski center los Penitentes and continue the journey to the fascinating geological formation - the Inca Bridge. Entrance to the Aconcagua Regional Park, from here you can admire the breathtaking views of the highest peak of America - Aconcagua. Continuing the trip, we admire the magnificent views of the Portillo lagoon and pass the last town on the Argentine side - Las Cuevas. If the atmospheric conditions allow, we can see the figure of Christ the Redeemer, which looks majestically from the Andean peaks for both countries. Overcoming the last summits, we cross the tunnel linking Argentina with Chile. On the Chilean side, sharp downhill routes to areas covered with vines. With possibility to stop in one of the vineyards for a tasting of famous Chilean wines. After this exciting day, arrival for a well-deserved dinner and rest in Santiago. 

Day 12

Breakfast. City tour: Plaza de Armas, Cathedral, Main Post Office building, Plaza de la Constitucion y Plaza de la Libertad, la Moneda Palace. A representative ride along the main street, to see the most important buildings: the Government Palace, University, National Library, among others. Visit the church of St. Francis, where the statue of the patroness of the city is kept, la Virgen del Socorro. A short stay on Saint Lucia's Hill and a ride to Saint Christopher's Hill, where the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is located. Dinner and accommodation. 

Day 13

Breakfast. Drive along a picturesque road surrounded by vineyards, where the most famous Chilean wines originate, to arrive in Valparaiso. Visit of one of the oldest cities in Chile, which is still an important harbor base for the capital of the country. We visit the Cathedral, the Plaza Victoria and viewpoints on the hill that dominates the city, among others. Then we drive to the resort of Vina del Mar. Stroll through the elegant streets of this small town. Return to dinner and overnight to Santiago.

Day 14

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to fly to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro and to take a flight home.
