ITINERARY

 

Day 1 

Flight to Quito.

Day 2 

Arrival to Quito. Transfer to the hotel. After a short break, ride to the place where you can stand on two hemispheres at once, La Mitad del Mundo. Visit the Intinan Museum, to receive extensive explanations of the paranormal phenomena occurring on the equator and visit also the ethnographic museum. Ride to visit the largest volcanic crater of South America - Pululahua. Return to dinner and overnight at the hotel. 

Day 3 

Breakfast. Transfer to the Sanctuary in Guapulo - sightseeing and a moment of reflection on the fate of the American continent. Tour of the colonial heart of the former Inca metropolis Quito. Stroll around the old town, visiting the Independence Square with the Cathedral, the Governor's Palace (the former Archbishop's Palace), the Jesuit Church considered one of the most beautiful in Latin America with the relics of Saint Marianna de Jesus and visit St. Francis square with the Franciscan monastery. After an eventful day, ride to the Panecillo hill and admire the great views of the city. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 4 

Breakfast. Transfer to the Cotopaxi National Park. Enjoying most famous volcano in Ecuador and the surrounding area. Those, who have strength and resistance can climb towards the top of the volcano. In the afternoon return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. 

Day 5 

Breakfast. Drive through the land of lakes and volcanoes to the town of Otavalo, famous for the biggest handicraft market. Free time to buy folk products. Ride to Cotacachi, under the famous volcano of the same name. This town is famous for its huge selection of leather products. Transfer and accommodation near the Colombian border. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 6 

Breakfast. Transfer to the most important Colombian Sanctuary in Las Lajas. In the afternoon, travel for dinner and overnight to Quito. 

Day 7 

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and flight to Bogota. Visit the historical center of the capital of Colombia with numerous squares and churches. Ride to the Monserrat lookout, with a magnificent view of the city. In the afternoon visit the famous Gold Museum, its collection is considered one of the largest in the world. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 8 

Breakfast. Transfer to the salt cathedral in Zipaquira - hollowed out in lumps of salt of the tunnels of the former mine. After this exciting underground trip, we travel to the colonial town of Villa de Leyva. Optional evening stroll along the picturesque streets. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 9 

Breakfast. Stroll around Villa de Leyva. Transfer to the nearby Ecce Homo Dominican monastery admiring the beautiful lagoons. In the early afternoon, ride to the nearby Raquira, famous for folk handicraft products and the Monasterio de la Candelaria. Return to dinner and overnight at the hotel.  

Day 10 

After breakfast, transfer to the airport of Bogota and take a flight to Cartagena, in the coastline of the Caribbean Sea. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.  

Day 11 

Breakfast. Tour of the historic center of Cartagena including the city walls, the castle of San Felipe and the monastery de la Popa. Leisure time in the afternoon. 

Day 12 

After breakfast, travel to Santa Maria - one of the oldest cities in Colombia. Tour around the center visiting the Cathedral. In the afternoon, leisure time. Dinner and overnight.  

Day 13 

Breakfast. Optional air travel to the Lost City, the most important archaeological site in Colombia located in the wild jungle. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 14 

Breakfast. Free time until midday. Transfer to the airport.
